Captions for YouTube Shorts
Shorts viewers swipe fast. Captions give them a reason to stay, and they help your video reach people who watch on mute or in another language.
Start freeHow to do it
- Open Captionwave and add your Short, up to about 3 minutes long.
- Create captions, choose a style, and adjust the words or timing if needed.
- Export the MP4 with captions built in, or download an SRT file to upload as YouTube subtitles.
Tips that work
- Burned-in captions look great but cannot be turned off. Upload an SRT too if you want viewers to choose.
- Use the Lower Third style for explainers and interviews, and Bold Pop for punchy, fast edits.
- Fix names and brand words in the transcript before exporting, so they are spelled correctly everywhere.
